Flashback to the Toronto Raptors 2019 memorable Championship run, donning their alternate “City” edition uniforms with a north pointing chevron on the chest with “North” embroidered inside, its now apparent the chevron’s are here to stay, as the Raptors recently unveiled a set of new uniforms for the upcoming 2020/2021 season.
The Raptors will feature five new uniforms for the upcoming season. Three of them have been unveiled, the “Association”, the “Icon”, and The Jordan Brand themed “Statement” uniform. The other two that have yet to be unveiled will be a Drake OVO inspired Black/Gold uniform and a throwback themed purple uniform commemorating the Raptors early days.
I’ll say these new uni’s are a step up from the previous extremely plain looking uniforms outside of the alternate “City” edition jerseys. Of the three, I’m feeling the Jordan branded “Statement” jersey the most. Its all about the details, as I really like how they placed the raptors lettering in the shape of the chevron that’s featured on the other two uniforms, along with commemorating the early days of the franchise by featuring the jagged pinstripes that were featured on their original uniforms from 1995-1999.
